Safeway Manila takes its corporate responsibility seriously and makes every effort to reach out beyond its workplace to share the fruits of its success to the Filipino people. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs are aimed at areas close to the hearts of its employees, including education, rural outreach, nutrition, housing, food donations, environmental projects, health, livelihood programs, sports development and values formation.

Safeway Manila’s CSR program was launched in response to the needs of school children. Computers were donated to Bigay Awa ng Tanglaw sa mga Anghel
(B.A.T.A Foundation Inc.) in Parañaque. 40 Safeway Philtech employees volunteered their weekends over two months to conduct a computer tutorial program. Lasting two hours each, the sessions introduced computing concepts to 10 children who would otherwise not have had access to these resources.

Safeway Manila, in cooperation with World Vision, provided basic school supplies and materials to the school children of Iba, Zambales in 2007. Workbooks and textbooks were also given to assist the teachers when conducting their lessons. Aside from the school supplies, basic food was also provided.

We are dedicated to continue our Corporate Social Responsibility programs each year with the purpose of improving the lives of others.
