Congratulations to the entire Safeway Manila team on your fifth anniversary. It is a significant milestone in the history of Safeway Manila. You have consistently met every challenge Safeway presented and I am very happy and proud of what you have accomplished. The character of a great team is demonstrated by the way it confronts challenges. In the past year, I presented a challenge to you to improve and expand your services and you came through with flying colors. I am especially proud of the sense of ownership you have taken in supporting our business. In a relatively short period of five years you have become the experts in many of the
systems you support and gained respect from the Safeway business and IT staff. I want to thank all of you for all your hard work and what you have contributed to Safeway. Five years ago in the inauguration ceremony, I explained the reason we established an operation in Manila was because of the talented people and their passion I saw in the Philippines. You have proven me right! I look forward to your continuing accomplishments and maintain your role as a critical partner to Safeway’s overall success.
